Yes. Taipei patients begin with a secure online video consultation. When surgery is indicated, we schedule the procedure at our Dubai (Koster Clinic) or Belgium center. Dubai is typically the shorter route from TPE (~9 hours via direct or one-stop flights).
Can the consultation be held in Traditional Chinese (繁體中文)?
Consultations are held in English. A professional Mandarin (國語) medical interpreter can be arranged for the video call — please request when booking.
Why not have surgery in Taiwan?
Taiwan has excellent general urology and gynaecology, but laparoscopic pudendal nerve decompression is not a routine subspecialty procedure locally. Our practice is focused on this operation, with over 600 pelvic procedures performed by Prof. Bollens.
Does Taiwan's National Health Insurance (健保) cover overseas surgery?
NHI does not routinely reimburse elective overseas surgery. Private supplementary insurance policies may reimburse in full or in part. We provide English medical reports and detailed invoices to support any claim.
What imaging should I prepare in Taipei before the consultation?
Recent pelvic MRI (3T preferred), MR neurography if available, EMG of the pelvic floor, and any prior urology or gynaecology reports. We can suggest a Taipei radiology center for MR neurography if needed.
